Hạ Long Bay is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the most popular travel destination in Quảng Ninh Province, Vietnam. "Hạ Long" means "descending dragon" and the Bay is dotted with 1,600 limestone islands and islets and covers an area of over 1,500 sqkm. The extraordinary area was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994.

Climate

The climate of the Ha long bay is tropical, wet, sea islands, with two seasons: hot and moist summer, dry and cold winter and the average temperature is from 15–25 °C (59–77 °F), and annual rainfall is between 2 and 2.2 metres 6.6 and 7.2 ft.

People 

The people of Halong Bay are part of the majority ethnic group in Vietnam, the Kinh people. Vietnamese is the spoken language and Halong Bay locals have mostly lived in unique floating fishing villages; making a living from fishing. Vietnamese people are extremely generous, friendly, hardworking, helpful and very polite.
