Bora Bora is a 30.55 km2 (12 sq mi) island group in the Leeward group in the western part of the Society Islands of French Polynesia and it is a Pacific island in the territory of French Polynesia, part of the Society Islands about halfway between South America and Australia. In ancient times the island was called "Pora pora mai te pora", meaning (created by the gods) in the local Tahitian dialect. Bora Bora is a major tourist destination, famous for its aqua-centric luxury resorts, bungalows, sand beaches, crystal clear waters, sapphire blue skies and seclusion but expensive. Hotels are few and fancy, ranging from $400–$2,000 per night for the lowest standard rates and it’s nearly impossible to visit Bora Bora on a budget but again, its depend on your pocket, planning and bargaining skills can be useful there. Bora Bora doesn’t have an international airport, travelers must go through the main French Polynesian airport at Papeete, on the island of Tahiti. Bora Bora is an excellent option for honeymoon and those seeking the right balance between adventure and relaxation.

Bora Bora has a tropical climate, temperatures are relatively consistent throughout the year, with hot days and warm nights and Bora is a volcanic island, most rainfall occurs during the summer months November to April.
